"The hotel rooms need to be updated- they’re worse for wear. Stained furniture, holes in towels, stained carpet. The gym is great. But the saving point to this place is the staff - they’re kind and doing their very very best with a hotel that needs work. Honestly I wouldn’t stay here again unless the owners spend some money and refit it. It’s not to the Ascott standard. The hardest part is getting good staff and they have this so it is strange they don’t do some cosmetic updates and bring this hotel up to standard."

"From the initial contact by Catherine Londoner Guest Relations Team to the pickup limo by Brian at Heng Qin port to the arrival at the main entrance, received by Gordon 吳鎮宇 star captain team manager to the suite it’s a great impression of tops hotelier experience ! The afternoon tea and evening cocktail reception literally occupied the rest of our evening at The Residence, Londoner restaurant operation for guests. Many thanks to Jessica Exec manager who introduces us various gourmet foods and canapés and offers a special plate of strawberries and blueberry to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. To our surprise, the Guest Relations Team delivers a cake to our room in the evening at 9:30pm. The next day breakfast at The Residence restaurant is sumptuous and exquisite. Elna Exec manager from Taiwan personally serves tea and suggests a few dim sum items for us to taste. Our one day stay at Londoner is filled with joy and 感恩to all the Londoner staffs who pamper us with genuine hospitality and professionalism. The top quality of the staff, the food quality and the ambiance contribute to our precious memories. Gordon and Fiona, Stephen(?)who offers us guidance to maneuver around Londoner Sands , Venetian shoppes, assisted our departure inn a limousine at 4pm. We will be back. Bravo Londoner Guest Relations Team ❤️👍👌🙏"

"Overall, it was a nice hotel, but I was a bit disappointed that my room wasn't ready when I arrived at 5 PM. I had to wait in the lobby for over 20 minutes while it was being prepared. On a positive note, the room setup was pleasant, and the room service was excellent. However, I did encounter another issue: the toilet was blocked, and I had to call a technician to fix it at 3 AM."

"The hotel is clean and beautifully decorated, right beside Cheoc Van Beach in a quiet part of town. Our room was spacious and though the sea view was obstructed by trees, the sound of the waves and birds singing was relaxing enough. The restaurant fare is delicious and the service was excellent. There are beautiful trails within walking distance and a short bus ride away. Coloane Village is also nearby where Lord Stow's bakery offers the best Portuguese egg tarts in town."

The hotel service is also very good. We were upgraded to a luxury suite once. Very praiseworthy. It's a pity that the big fish tank is gone. . ."

"Environment: In Taipa, close to Macau Airport and Hengqin Port. It is separated from the Parisian and Venetian hotels by a road. There is a sky corridor on the second floor of the Londoner, and you can go to the Parisian to buy things. The Royal Garden is in the same building complex as the Londoner Hotel, and the duty-free shop here is smaller than that of the Parisian. The machines in the ****** can directly use Hong Kong dollars, otherwise you have to exchange them at the counter. Facilities: The room is fully equipped with smart toilets and full-body massage chairs. There is a massage room, and you can have someone massage you for an additional fee. All facilities are well maintained and clean, the rooms are spacious and bright, and there is no peculiar smell. The Knight Suite we booked has one king bed, one twin bed, and three bathrooms. All drinks in the water bar are free, and there are three large drawers of snacks, welcome snacks, and free refills. Service: Yuyuan's service is very considerate. The housekeeper will contact you in advance and provide free pick-up and drop-off. Butler Xiao Xu and concierge came to London to pick us up, checked all our luggage, and took us directly to the Royal Garden. We went directly to the guest room, and the housekeeper came to the guest room to help us check in, which was very convenient. The housekeeper will ask about the itinerary and arrange a vehicle to take us to the attractions. The old man didn't bring a thermos cup, so he gave us two thermos cups as gifts. The housekeeper is on call 24 hours a day. When I returned to the room at night, the housekeeper also put away the bath water, which was super worry-free. Catering: Breakfast is on the 36th floor, there are no people there. Afternoon tea is in the Chinese Garden on the 3rd floor of The Londoner. There is a buffet for breakfast. You have to order lobster, abalone, shrimp dumplings, and water crab porridge with the service staff. The ingredients are very fresh and taste good. Great experience. The water crab porridge at Londoner Hua Ting was a bit salty for us. I just happened to check in here and they were given fruit snacks. The housekeeper saw that the children liked to eat and immediately replenished everything they had finished. The whole family doesn't drink, so I didn't go to the cocktail party in the evening. We stayed in the Knight Suite, which cost 3W a night. Includes breakfast, afternoon tea and cocktails. There is also a pick-up and drop-off service. Very satisfied with all aspects of software and hardware. For the first time, I didn’t hear any dissatisfaction from the old man. Among the hotels I have stayed in in Macau this time, my overall ranking is The Londoner Royal Garden - The Londoner - Old Lisboa - Wynn Palace - New Lisboa."

Macau Travel Guide: Attractions, Transport & Where to Stay

Macau Travel Guide: Attractions, Transport & Where to Stay

Macau is literally the “Vegas of China,” with neon-lit mega-casinos along the Cotai Strip (think dancing fountains and Crazy Rich Asians vibes). But wander 10 minutes from the blackjack tables, and you’re in Senado Square, where wave-patterned cobblestones lead to pastel Portuguese buildings, street vendors grilling pork jerky, and the scent of freshly baked egg tarts. So come and visit Macau now!

Getting to Macau

Getting here is easy—fly into Macau International Airport (9km from downtown), arrive by ferry, or cross from mainland China.

  • From the airport to the city:
Taxis are quick (around 10-15 minutes). Public buses like AP1 or MT1 are cheap (have coins ready). Many hotels offer free shuttles—check their stops outside the airport.
  • Getting around Macau:
The city is small and walkable. Buses go everywhere, or take a taxi (use the “Macau Taxi” app). For fun, try a trishaw ride! Save time by buying a rechargeable Macau Pass for buses.

Staying near Macau International Airport is good for travelers with early flights or layovers.

Macau Travel Guide: Attractions, Transport & Where to Stay

Best Areas to Stay in Macau

Cotai Strip

For glitzy mega-resorts (think Venetian’s canals, Parisian’s Eiffel replica) and 24/7 casinos. Stay here if you’re here to party, shop, or catch Cirque du Soleil. Local tip: Book weekdays for half-price luxury.

Macau Peninsula

The history nerd’s playground—steps from Senado Square’s cobblestones, St. Paul’s Ruins, and hole-in-the-wall dim sum spots. Hotels range from budget guesthouses to the iconic Grand Lisboa. Local tip: Wander Rua da Felicidade at night for neon-lit photo ops.

Taipa Village

Skip the casinos and dive into Macau’s soul: pastel Portuguese houses, pork chop buns from street stalls, and Lord Stow’s egg tarts. Stay for the charm, not the frills. Local tip: Hit Tai Lei Loi Kei for the best pork chop bun—worth the queue.

Must-Visit Attractions in Macau

Must-Visit Attractions in Macau

There are many famous attractions in downtown Macau, such as Leal Senado Building, Rua da Felicidade, Senado Square. If you want to spend a fun vacation with your family, locals recommend visiting Coloane, Hac Sa Beach. The most famous attractions locally are City of Dreams.

Macau Tower

For thrill-seekers: Bungee jump (it’s the world’s highest commercial jump at 233m!), “skywalk” the outer rim, or just sip coffee at the observation deck with 360° views. Pro tip: Book the revolving buffet dinner—it’s the spot for sunset over the Pearl River Delta.

Venetian Macao Resort

Venice in Asia? Yep. Glide through indoor canals under a painted “sky” while gondoliers serenade you. Lose yourself in the maze of luxury shops, catch a Cirque du Soleil show, or hit the casino (even if just to gawk at the gold-leaf ceilings).

Must-Visit Attractions in Macau

Studio City Macau

Where Hollywood meets Vegas. Ride the Golden Reel, a figure-eight Ferris wheel dangling 130m above ground, or catch a blockbuster at the IMAX. The resort’s Batman-themed flight simulator and magic shows keep kids (and inner kids) hooked.

Outstanding
GGuest UserWe stayed during Easter long weekend. Did we expect it to be busy? Yes. Were there lots of people? Yes. We checked in early 2pm with the reception, and insisting a room would be ready within the next 2 hours (1 hour after the 3pm check-in time). We did not receive a text informing us of our room number so we went back to reception to ask if our room was ready only to find out that we had to join the massively long line queue again to find out what our room number was. We did not receive our room until almost 5pm. The text informing us of our room number was only received at 8.11pm To top it off, if you wanted to eat breakfast at Le Buffet, join the queue at 9am. In addition to this, I am not sure the toilet and other areas of our room were not cleaned properly. Just not the quality and service I was expecting for paying close to $600AUD per night. I am not sure we would stay here again.

GGuest UserYou can forget about early checkin. Could only preregister strictly after 1230pm and had to come back for room key collection from 3pm onwards. The hotel requires 1000HKD for room deposit. We requested for twin beds but was informed there would be additional charges unlike other establishments who not only accommodated to our requests but they also did their best to make our stay memorable. Honestly we expected better service for the price paid. Wouldn’t consider staying here again when we could get better service elsewhere.

GGuest UserI stayed here for the first time with my mother and daughter to celebrate my mother’s birthday month. First I was greeted by a door man who was very friendly! The check in line was a bit long and chaotic but once I got my turn, I was impressed by Brandon, the receptionist, who was so efficient, effective and helpful. He also heard about me celebrating with my mother and he upgraded us to special room with massive balcony. I admit I was teary eyed with this kind gestures. The staff during the breakfast time was friendly and gave us the seat with nice view. Concierge staff on the phone was so helpful and we got help with wheelchair. Staff for cloack room were all so kind and my mother was so happy and she said it was the best hotel experience she had so far. Thank you W !

SS brielle chooThe location is superb! There's a super famous dessert store right beneath. The bus stops right in front of the hotel as well, with buses to go to the airport and ferry terminal, as well as the casinos. Highly recommended! A lot of good food nearby too. The rooms are not too shabby, quite modern. No smell of paint or whatsoever like the other reviews. I guess because how the hotel is more or less well-settled through the renovation phase earlier. Very accessible, good for single pax concert goers. That's why I booked it here! Will stay here again.

The room contains a kitchen, living room and two bath rooms. Once again we like to thanks the hotel Staff especially Miguel and Dennis at the front desk. GGuest UserThis room provides a comfortable and functional stay for solo travelers. While space is somewhat limited, the room is well-equipped with a working desk and a television offering a variety of channels. A standout feature was the bathtub, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring Macau. The location is also very convenient, with easy access to nearby dining options, a train station, and a bus stop, making travel around the area simple and efficient. GGuest UserNot enough check in/out counters. We ordered an extra bed room and need to request setup and supplies after check-in. Breakfast selection was limited and mostly cold food served, and the noodle bar could be more flexible to accommodate guest needs. Perhaps consider offering bacon as a start.
